Powder Bath Zen

Even small spaces can make a big statement with the right materials and craftsmanship. To find the zen in this powder bath, designer Eva Andersen started with a painted red ceiling overhead and Island Stone pebbles below. She “painted” the space in between with stone – hand carved strokes that might evoke flames or waves, depending on your state of mind. The walls were completed with a grasscloth wall covering and custom cherry millwork.

The cherry vanity, custom-made by Teakwood Builders’ QCCI Cabinetry, has a solid cherry altar-style counter by Grothouse Lumber. The hammered nickel sink is balanced with a wall-mounted brushed nickel lever sink.

The finishing “jewelry” for the room is a pair of Arroyo Craftsman pagoda lanterns.
