Jim Sasko founded Teakwood in 1996 when he was a young carpenter. He had already experienced the efficient, but uninspiring process of production building, as well as the chaos of more creatively exciting, free-for-all custom work. He felt sure there was a way to blend the best of the fine, responsive custom design he loved with the benefits of a streamlined, reliable process.
Inspired by Michael Gerber’s popular book about building good business systems, Sasko began developing the talented members of Team Teak and honing the company’s signature design-build process. As owner, Jim oversees all aspects of the company’s projects, working closely with clients and team members. He is in charge of business operations, business development, sales, project planning and design.
“We operate an open-book company, encouraging business improvements from all our team members.”
Jim enjoys skiing, boating and hiking in his spare time. He and his family are also starting a small horse farm at their home.
