Culinary Craftsman

“We had a superb design/build experience with Teakwood and are really pleased with the results…The level of trust developed makes you our only choice for renovation.” -Homeowner
The owners of an early 1900s Craftsman bungalow in an historic Saratoga Springs neighborhood called on Teakwood Builders to design and construct a kitchen that was more respectful of the home’s heritage. Before the renovation, the kitchen was dark, cramped, and dated. The original hardwood floors had been covered up by thick tiles, and much of the room’s charm had been lost over the course of several decades and past remodeling attempts. By combining natural materials–such as quarter-sawn oak cabinetry, soapstone countertops, and handcrafted ceramic and glass tile–with vintage style and finishes–such as inset cabinet doors with exposed hinges, burnished antique hardware, and reproduction pendant lighting–Teakwood created a timeless kitchen, resurrecting its Arts & Crafts roots.
