Jim’s diverse background—from an education in economics to a turn in craft brewing—led him to discover carpentry and woodworking, eventually working for a leading Boston-area contracting company co-owned by Tom Silva of PBS’s This Old House. A move closer to family in Glens Falls brought him to Teakwood, where he started as a Lead Carpenter. Now, Jim plans projects while also assisting with construction coordination and overall scheduling, helping to transition jobs from the pre-construction planning phase to production.
