Beauty never gets old and seamlessly blending the old with the new is what makes this kitchen design an award winner. The homeowners were very involved in the entire design process. As avid collectors of antique architectural artifacts, they found several pieces they wanted to incorporate into the design. The expansive island is made from reclaimed doors that were lovingly hand-finished to an exacting patina. Custom cabinetry features a timeless glass pantry to display kitchenware and treasured finds. Wooden bar stools complement the hardwood flooring and a large farmhouse sink sits below windows that overlook the backyard. Tray ceilings draw the gaze upward and add visual interest as the eyes follow the contour of the room. Bright and light hues make this space aesthetically pleasing and the flow is both ergonomic and functional. It’s easy to see why this space is the heart of the home.
