“Phoenix Rising” stands as an inspiring testament to the power of transformative reconstruction after a devastating fire. The owners approached Teakwood with a simple ask: to connect them to restore their prized great room light fixtures, salvaged pieces that had been part of a historic Saratoga Springs hotel. Driven by the vision to restore the farmhouse’s historic beauty, a plan was devised to breathe new life into the 20-year-old dwelling from its soot-and-water-laden foundation.
A Symphony of Restoration
Balancing tradition and modern styles, the project honors the original layout, enriched by contemporary updates. The kitchen’s breakfast nook now serves as a sunlit dining and sitting area, extending to an al fresco entertainment space complete with a built-in grill. The reconfigured kitchen has an inviting eat-at centerpiece, while the great room showcases cherry millwork and built-ins. Throughout, a revitalized palette of playful and vibrant colors mirrors the family’s lively creativity and spirit.
